What this post made me think of was something slightly different, though. It's the in-between part. One of the most gripping images for me from CS Lewis's writing was the wood between the worlds in The Magician's Nephew. Imagine all those worlds just a jump away -- through whatever pool you pick. But until you actually jump, there are no demands or disappointments, just anticipation. It's like a long car trip. I almost like the riding as much as the getting out. Or a subway. Or an airport. The in-between place is restful for me, like a sabbath. Yes, I like gateways too. What this post made me think of was something slightly different, though. It’s the in-between part.
