Amanda Pettit: wife, mother, writing fanatic.
Amanda lives in Texas with her computer geek husband Ray, fabulous daughter Virginia, and rambunctious son Edward. She divides her time between her family, her writing, and the management of Sanctuary Home For Children, which she co-founded in 2006. She has lived in Virginia, North Carolina, New York, and all over Texas, and travels regularly to India. Amanda is also a certified henna artist and professional seamstress. Occasionally, she cooks a decent meal and does the laundry.
Amanda first knew that she wanted to write stories when she was only eight. In 2009 – only a quarter of a century later – she completed her first two novels and decided to pursue writing full time. She is always working on the next novel, plus smaller works of fiction, articles, and essays; she reads contemporary and classic literature and writing/publishing-focused nonfiction. She received a BA in Anthropology from University of Texas at San Antonio (1995).
