As a writer, I find it extremely important to focus on my goals. There are many things I would like to do, and many that I need to do, both writing-related and non-writing-related. The awesome part is that it makes me more legitimate. (As a writer, people! My parents are married.) The not so awesome part, as I mentioned before, is that writing an article [...] I’m great at diving head first into a project, whether that’s writing a novel or remodeling a kitchen or starting an orphanage. I work like a dog until it’s finished, only stopping (temporarily) when I have to do stuff like feed children or pay bills. When I started writing, the first thing I did was [...] It’s been a crazy week. I’ve been caught up getting my manuscript ready to enter in the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award Contest. The submission period opened at 12:01am Monday morning, and with a limit to the number of entries, I was determined to get mine in immediately. At that point, although I did like what I had written, the greatest cause for celebration was simply the fact that I had achieved my goal and transferred so many words from [...] At this moment, my brain is overflowing with information about getting published. It’s rather overwhelming, to say the least. I’m reading oodles of articles and how-to lists and insider tips. I’m taking notes on everything, because I can’t possibly remember it all.
